A Latvian perspective on migration

On May 25th Latvians Online published an article entitled “Finding national security between free mobility and mass migration”, by contributor Ojārs Kalniņš*.

The article is interesting for us since provides a perspective we are not accustomed to...at least from our southern location!

On EASO, the article has the following to say:

“But in the spirit of solidarity we are prepared to do what we can. This includes expanding our role in FRONTEX (the European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the European Union) operations on the EU’s southern border, and sending our experts to the European Asylum Support Office.”

*The site says that the author is a Latvian member of Parliament, where he is chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
