NGOs on the Consultative Forum - AEDH

I’m very happy to post feedback received from the European Association for the Defense of Human Rights (AEDH), as a continuation of the mini-series of posts on NGOs views/expectations on the EASO Consultative Forum.

In response to my questions on the Forum’s structure and procedure; efficiency and effectiveness and substantive priorities, AEDH’s comments are as follows:

We think that, as a major requirement to allow a good cooperation between EASO and the Consultative Forum, EASO should :

  • Send detailed and regularly updated information from migrants’ countries of origin as well as from NGOs (diversification of source materials)
  • Send detailed and regular information on the process of asylum applications in the different EU member States listed by asylum seekers’ country of origin
  • Ensure a real circulation of information
  • Ensure transparency : have an access to sources
Many thanks to AEDH for their input!

Other NGOs wishing to provide their input to these queries are invited to get in touch with me.
