EASO should assist Greece...UN torture Special Rapporteur

The Human Rights Council recently published a report on a mission to Greece conducted from 10th to 20th October 2010 by the former UN Special Rapporteur for torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment (Manfred Nowak).

The report is an extensive expert account of the current situation in Greece, and contains a section on Refugees and asylum seekers (Section E), and a part specifically on The European asylum system (Section E, 4). In this section Nowak emphasises that, in ensuring protection-sensitive border control mechanisms, Greece must be assisted by EU MS and also by EASO.

I haven’t been able to find the report on the Human Rights Council site, but it can be accessed here.
