EASO is mentioned, albeit very briefly, in an article appearing today in cyprusnewsreport. It’s written by Ms. Androulla Kaminara, Head of the European Commission Representation in Cyprus, and essentially explores the “zero migration scenario” in an attempt to clarify the possible advantages related to migration.
With recent news headlines about the Greek and Italian ‘emergencies’, Kaminara’s article is actually a straightforward breath of fresh air. The article ends with a reference to Frontex’s assistance to Greece, and to EASO’s establishment. Kaminara concludes that:
“Immigration is important and useful to European societies. It is with measures and structures such as the ones mentioned above that the European Commission tries to tackle challenges, to share the burden, while attempting to make the best of the positive potential that immigrants can offer Europe.”
