Amnesty's info-digest on EASO

As part of my series of posts on what civil society has been saying about EASO, I’d like to share a document I just came across...or rather a document just sent to me from Amnesty International’s EU Office.

Described as a ‘digest’, the document “The European Asylum Support Office (EASO): Closing the Protection Gap in Europe?” is essentially a useful summary of all EASO is and does. Together with this information, AI also uses the document to present its core recommendations for the Office namely as follows:

  • EASO’s activities and its collection of country of origin information should be transparent;
  • the involvement of civil society should be supported and enabled;
  • all activities undertaken by EASO in the context of inter-agency or 3rd country cooperation should have the primary aim of enhancing protection.
The full document (4 pages) may be found here.

Thanks Ms. Baldaccini for bringing it to our attention.

  1. Hi, just wanted to let you know that the link to Amnesty's EASO document isn't valid. I think there is an extra space at the end... .
